Selecting text on iPhone, finally.

Pinokio is an iPhone web browser with a floating trackpad. One finger moves a real cursor over the page. Tap Start, drag, tap End, tap Copy.

Why?

Mobile Safari's selection workflow is a magnifying loop, two grab handles, and a lot of luck. Pinokio gives you a Mac-style cursor on the touchscreen — the workflow you already know from a desktop trackpad.

Built for the workflows iPhone gets wrong

Real cursor

Non-linear acceleration tuned to feel like a Mac trackpad. Slow drag is pixel-precise. Fast drag covers ground.

Five selection algorithms

DOM caret, range extend, word selection, element selection, synthetic drag. Different sites respond differently — pick what works.

Pointer-targeted scroll

The right-edge strip scrolls the element under the cursor, not under your finger. Scroll a sidebar without leaving the page.

Two-finger trackpad scroll

Drag two fingers anywhere on the trackpad surface. With inertia. With invertible direction.

Notch-aware layout

The page extends edge-to-edge under the Dynamic Island. The URL bar slides up with the page.

Landscape and iPad

The trackpad reshapes per orientation. iPad gets a freely positionable square trackpad you can resize.

Tabs and bookmarks

Stored on your device. No sync, no account.

Find on page

Native WebKit search. Highlights inline.

Clipboard works

Copy goes to the system clipboard. Paste pulls from it. No clipboard prompts.

For people who actually use the web on their phone

If you've ever shouted at your phone trying to copy half a sentence out of a news article — this app is for you.

Private by default

  • No servers. No accounts. No analytics.
  • No tracking SDKs of any kind.
  • Browsing data stays on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes everything.
  • The app's privacy manifest declares only one required-reason API: UserDefaults, used to remember your trackpad layout.
